Calluses on the feet, natural remedies and advice

THEcalluses on the feetthey can cause pain and see the appearance of wounds and injuries that make the general situation worse. THEcallusesare given by layers of dead and hardened skin cells, are caused by friction and repeated pressure exerted on specific areas of thefoot, these stresses cause an overproduction of skin cells that formcorns and calluses. In general, in fact, corns and callusesare the same thing, both are caused by the hardening and thickening of the skin in response to pressure or friction.

The main difference betweencorns and calluseslies in the fact that calluses represent a deeper and more localized skin hardening, while icallusesthey tend to cover a greater area of the skin and do not penetrate as deeply as calluses do.

THEcalluses on the feetthey are very common especially in the forefoot and heel area. They are characterized by a yellow / brown color and see various causes. As seen before, it is a localized and repeated pressure that gives life to thecalluses. The factors that trigger this phenomenon are: poor posture, high heels, unsuitable shoes, long periods of standing and obesity. THEcalluses on the feetthey are not dangerous, however, as anticipated in the introduction, they can be painful and give rise to small lesions. A skin lesion on the foot increases the risk of getting mycosis and infections, especially if the foot is kept in a damp place (sweaty feet) or if you go to public places such as gyms and swimming pools.

There are several remedies for treating corns and calluses. Below we will suggest the most effective natural remedies and best products available on the market.

Pumice stone and chamomile
To eliminate calluses, we do not recommend the use of the file which is excessively abrasive. You can use a natural pumice stone to gently rub on the area affected by the callus. This treatment is more effective if you have previously softened the callus by immersing the foot in warm water. To assist the action of the pumice stone, before treatment, immerse your feet in an infusion of chamomile.

Compeed to eliminate calluses
Wash your feet. Warm the patch in your hands for at least one minute and apply it. Remove the decorated film, being careful not to touch the sticker and finally, remove the white film. These patches are applied directly on the callus and must be "left to rest" until they come off naturally (they should, in fact, be replaced every 48 hours). After each Compeed treatment, softened skin should be gradually removed by gently rubbing with a towel. These patches are recommended if icalluses on the feetthey cause pain, in fact they have a soothing action and protect against water, dirt and germs. Especially recommended for those who attend gyms and swimming pools and want to reduce the risk of contracting mycosis and infections. Compeed exerts an emollient action capable of softening the skin and keeping it hydrated: ideal factors for healing calluses.

Apple cider vinegar
Among the grandmother's remedies, in case of corns and calluses, there is a compress based on apple cider vinegar. The treatment is simple: before going to bed, apply a compress with half a slice of stale bread soaked in apple cider vinegar directly on the area to be treated.
